Harasiis woman born in the early 1970s

This video clip is an edited conversation with a Harasiis woman born in the early 1970s. She was considered too old to be enrolled in the school which was opened for the tribal community in 1982. Without formal education, she has retained the oral traditions of her tribe and still recites poetry as a means of expression about events important to her in the past and present. As with the other women interviewed she moves regularly between her villa in the town of Haima, and her ‘azbah (temporary camel camp) in the desert.
