Harasiis woman born in the early 1970s
This video clip is an edited conversation with a Harasiis woman born in the early 1970s who spent most of her life living in the desert under trees shaded with blankets and later tarpaulin. She is a Harsousi speaker, one of six distinct non-Arabic, Semitic languages spoken in Oman and Yemen. Arabic was acquired by her later in life and in this interview her children, and grandchildren frequently had to restate or reinterpret the questions put to her.
