The Jiddat il-Harasiis (Empty Quarter)
A video clip of a journey crossing the central desert of Oman to join part of a pastoral herding family of the Harasiis tribe. After excellent rainfall in the north several months earlier, it is now time to moves a large herd of camels 200 kilometres north across the edge of the Empty Quarter while skirting around a camp of the Occidental Petroleum Company set in the middle of their traditional grazing lands.
